Skin Regimen

I get questions periodically about my skincare regimen. I wrote a post on it quite a while back on the old blog, but I guess it's about time I update you all on what I'm using these days.

First, I want to start off by saying that when it comes to skincare, you have to try different things to figure out what works.  I'd decided a little while back that I was ready to "step it up" on the skincare by letting go of the drugstore brands and give some of the pricier department store brands a try.  I wanted to see if "what you get is what you pay for" applied to skincare as well.  Let me give you a tip when it comes to trying out different department store brand skincare lines...buy the gift sets!  The major brands like Estée Lauder, Kiehls, Lancome, Clinique, etc. offer gift sets that gets you a handful of products at a fraction of the cost, and it's more than enough product for you to try and figure out if it works for you.  I did this with a few brands and I think I've found the skincare line that works best for me.

I am currently using Kiehl's products.  I bought the starter kit a couple months ago, and I'm hooked.  It has mama's skin feeling like butter and looking younger...at least to me it does.  It comes with a cleanser, moisturizer, eye cream, wrinkle reducing cream and a skin serum.  I am in love with all of these items.  Obvi, I use the cleanser and moisturizer daily.  I use the skin serum at night along with the eye cream, and then I apply the wrinkle reducer on certain spots on my face, namely where my frown lines would be (don't have them yet!) and the smile lines.

I've also added a couple other Kiehl's products to my line-up as well.  I've started using the Ultra Facial Moisturizer w/Sunscreen now that summer weather is basically here, and I just recently bought the Nature-Powered Masque set.  I haven't tried them yet, but I will be sure to give my opinion on them via Instagram or IG Stories.

Speaking of masks, I do use facial masks on occasion when I can overcome my laziness.  I'm a big fan of sheet masks and have been using the TONYMOLY masks after grabbing a bunch of them up one day while in Urban Outfitters (5 for $10, helloooo). I've also bought some sheet masks from TJ Maxx as well.  By the way, have you checked out TJ Maxx's skincare/beauty section?? So many great finds!  But that's a whole other post for another day...

So there you have it.  My current skincare routine in a nutshell. Hope this helps!
