2019

Hey ya’ll! Yes, I’m still here. I know, I know, I kind of fell off mid year when it came to blogging on the site. But best believe, my IG stayed poppin’. Anyway, it’s a new year—same me, who is going to try to do better with updating this blog site and posting my looks, food, places, etc. here too.

So first post of the year features something that I’ve been slowly getting into and that is “minimal style”. I’m sure you’ve heard about it and have a vague idea of what it is. For me it means getting rid of excess clothing that I don’t wear regularly. Clothes that I don’t love and that doesn’t fit in with a certain “motif” that I have planned for my wardrobe. What first attracted me to minimal style was the the classic and sophisticated look that minimal outfits have. They tend to follow a certain color scheme which is monochrome (black & white), grays and neutrals like camel, taupe, and other strong solid colors. Really it’s colors that pair well together, with little prints (though you can still mix some in), and classic clean lines. I see it as being able to reach into my closet and pull out a few items and pretty much everything goes with everything. So, I definitely think you’ll notice that change in future style posts.

Meanwhile, I’m looking forward to this new year. I’m currently participating in “Dry January” and it’s been interesting. Who am I kidding, it’s been hard! It’s definitely been enlightening. Basically, I realize that all my social interactions involve “drinks”…so for this last 2 weeks, I’ve been a bit of a hermit. Gotta do what I gotta do! At least, I’m sticking with the challenge, and I can’t deny that I feel great. I even think my stomach has gotten a tad bit flatter. Winning.

Anyway, I’m wishing you all a fun-filled, goal-crushing, happy 2019!
