White Tribal Dress

DRESS // PURSE // SHOES // BRACELET // NECKLACE

"Rasta Barbie", "Mocha-hontas"--all of the clichΓ© names, I've been referring to myself as since I've put these Marley twists in my hair.  I love them!!  And it only took me 2-3 hours to put them in.  Yea, they are a bit sloppy, in my opinion, but this was my first time, so I'm not to concerned.  I'm just happy to be taking a breather from doing my hair.

In this post, I'm wearing this white tribal print dress, I currently have stocked in my store.  I wore it on Saturday for a "date day" with the hubs.  We went to one of Atlanta's local breweries, Orpheus Brewing--went on the brewery tour and sampled some beer.  It's also Atlanta Downtown Restaurant Week, so we tried out a new downtown area restaurant, as well.  I will be doing a separate post on that restaurant later in the week.

This dress is one of my favorite dresses in the store.  It's super light and air-y (which is great for this record-breaking heat), without being see-through.  Of course, the strappy back is the cherry on top.  I have limited quantities, so get it while you can!

Happy Monday!

DRESS // NECKLACE (w/matching earrings) // SHOES // SUNGLASSES

Hey guys, I'm sitting here trying to find inspiration for this blog post, but I'm just not in a word-y mood.  In light of recent events (#AltonSterling and #PhilandoCastile killings, and now shootings in Dallas), I'm in a somber mood and I'm just going to allow myself to be.  But I still wanted to get these latest outfit pictures up, so...

DRESS // NECKLACE // SHOES // SUNGLASSES

I will say, that this is another dress that I completely adore.  It gets me feeling all MILF-y.  Also, it is lined from the top to about mid-thigh, which holds everything in quite nicely.  You can snatch this dress up at Belleza Blu!

Hope you guys spread a little love and compassion around this weekend.

The Weekend + Princi

This past Saturday, the hubs and I went on a date night and decided to have dinner at Princi.  It's a fairly new restaurant in Midtown (Atlanta).  We've walked past it a few times, because we tend to hangout in the Midtown area, and we've always took note on how quaint it looked, especially the patio.

I won't go into full "food critic" mode, but I just thought I'd share that we really enjoyed our time there.  The food was great, and the ambiance couldn't be beat.  I had the Chicken Piccata and the hubs had Branzino.

Teal Wrap Dress

DRESS // SHOES, similar

I love wrap dresses.  Have I ever told you guys that?  I do...because it's one of the easiest and most flattering style of dress for ALL body types.  They also have this "classy" feel to them....even if it only cost you 20 bucks...like in this case.

Of course, the fact this is a wrap dress with a "boho" style, Hindi-ish print....I had to have it, and I had to make sure you guys could have it too!!  So I have just a handful of them available at BELLEZA BLU.  Grab them fast! My last wrap dress sold out pretty quickly.

Hope your week is off to a great start!

Indian

DRESS / SANDALS

I'm in love with anything tie-dye.  I can't remember a time when I wasn't automatically drawn to tie-dyed clothing.  I'm not really talking the retro, rainbow tie-dyed t-shirts. That's pretty typical.  I like articles of clothing that "dress up" the casual, hippy vibe of it.

Enter this dress.  I couldn't pass it up.  Not only did it dress-up the tie-dye, it sexified it up too without being too overt with the lil' bit of exposed midriff and hi-lo hem.  I'm all for a little ventilation during these summer temperatures.

This dress is made in India, and is made out of a nice air-y, cotton gauze-like material.  Looking forward to taking it out for a spin for one our date nights.

Oh, and yes, I cut my hair.  I also dyed it back black.  Hair A.D.D.--yea you know me!  I will post a separate blog post talking about the new do.

Happy Friday, guys.  Hope you have amazing weekend!

Hey mi gente!  June is here, which means summer is near!  Anyone who knows me, knows that summer time is my favorite time of year.  Heck, I was born in July--so, of course, it is.

So during this time of year, I tend to lean towards "instant outfits", i.e. dresses, rompers and now...2 piece sets!!  I've noticed the popularity of 2 piece sets in the past couple years, and I am totally on board.

I instantly fell in love with this bright orange short set when I saw it.  Of course, I love the boho vibes that the crochet trim and off-the-shoulder flutter sleeves give.  So I had to add it to the shop! (By the way, feel free to click "Shop" under the title of my blog to check my other items!)

flash tattoo

Obviously, the "flash" part of the title of this post is about flash tattoos.  I was just in Atlanta's Caribbean Carnival which occurs yearly over Memorial Day Weekend.  I added some flash tattoos to my masquerade costume to spice it up and it was a hit!  And they really do last quite a while.  I am JUST about take this elephant off of my chest, and I've had it on there for a week now.  These are definitely going to be my new thing for the summer.

Have a great weekend, my friends!

So, I'm sure you all have been seeing all the reminders on TV or from people you know that Saturday night you need to move your clocks forward one hour for Daylight Savings Time.  Now, if you know me, you know that I am so happy that Spring is here.  I LIVE for warm weather.  What I don't live for, is losing an hour of sleep.  I guess we have to take the good with the bad.  I just don't look forward to the morning struggle for the next week or so, as our bodies adjust to the change.  My kids are going to be sooo grumpy.  Not to mention, they are going to be reluctant having to go to bed while it is still light outside.  Ah well...

Speaking of Spring, I have another spring/summer look that I'm digging.  I'm so happy that summer dress season is here, especially for us ATLiens.  For me, this time of year is the easiest for me where getting dressed is concerned.  I usually just throw on a dress or romper and I'm on my way.  I guess that spending as much time picking out something to wear, will help make up for that hour lost.

Have a great weekend, and don't forget to Spring forward!

Boho Bodycon

Dress - HERE

So, who says "boho chic" can't be sexy too?

Okay, so I don't usually wear "bodycon" anything--except for workout wear.  Not that I have anything against it, it's just not my steelo.  But when I laid my eyes on this dress--I thought that maybe stepping out of my box may not be so bad.  I was immediately attracted to the ethnically, ornate pattern on the front that looks pretty quasi-Hindu-Buddhist, which I am all about.  But, at the same time, it slays!  It's a boho slay! *wink*

So, I loved the dress so much, that I decided to get more and put a few up for sale in my eBay shop.  If interested, you can get it HERE.

By the way, we're suppose to be having Spring weather this weekend and, apparently, it's here to stay!  Woohoo!  I look forward to posting lots of Spring/Summer looks this season.  Warmer weather shall breath new life into this blog...trust!

Have a fantastic weekend, guys.

Chevron Patchwork

So have you begun to notice a trend here on my blog?  Yes, the indoor shots and the OTK boots is what I'm talking about.  You know why? Well...it's cold here in Atlanta!  Thankfully, we aren't experiencing an impending blizzard like some other places, but the winter struggle is still real.

So, as you know, I lean towards a slight "boho chic" style.  If certain items of clothing give off a retro vibe, I'm probably attracted to it.  Which is exactly what happened with this top.  The print, the slight babydoll cut, and the peplum--all give off a vintage-y feel that I immediately liked. I like that it looks like something you'd find at Anthropologie, without the Anthro prices. Also, the tans, browns, and neutral color scheme went perfectly with one of my favorite pair of OTK (over the knee, calling them "thigh highs" is so 90's. *wink*) boots.  It was the perfect casual, date night look.

I currently have this shirt listed in my eBay shop, in limited quantities, so grab one while you can.  The lace-up bodysuit in my last outfit post has since sold out, and thanks for all who purchased.  I have many more great items that I will share with you all soon!

Have a great weekend, guys.  And try to stay warm out there!

A while back....a loooong while back actually, I told you guys that I would start sharing with you some of my fave Amazon purchases, since I get a package from them in the mail about every-other-day.  I really do.  I'm getting my Prime money's worth, I tell ya.  So in the spirit of getting back in the swing of things on this here blog, just thought I'd share with you one of my new Amazon faves.

If you follow me on my other social media accounts, then you probably already know that I adore my Apple Watch.  It's easily one of my favorite purchases of 2015.  I could go on and on about how it's made my life easier in numerous ways, but that's a whole other post.

Anyway, while perusing Amazon looking for more bands for my Apple Watch, I stumbled upon this Apple Watch & iPhone charging station.  I instantly thought it was genius!  I realized it's a great way to prevent my nightstand from being cluttered with charging cables and devices.  The kicker, is the thing is only 10 bucks.

So if you have an Apple Watch (which means you also have an iPhone), this is definitely something to consider buying.

Get it from Amazon HERE.

Oy!

So, as you know, we've been back in Atlanta for a few months now.  During this time, we've been eating and playing our way through the city since we've gotten back.  There are so many new places to eat and new things to do that have popped up while we were away.  So I will make it a thing to chronicle some of our new "discoveries" here on the blog.

One weekend here recently, the little family and I decided to go grab a bite for lunch.  I was craving a burger and nobody seemed to object.  Intent on trying out a new place, I jumped on Yelp and did a quick search.  This place "Oy" popped up.  It was only a few miles away and had great reviews--so we decided to give it a try.  They seem to have a very popular breakfast/brunch--but apparently, their burgers are the biz as well.

To make a long story short, the hubs and I both ordered the "Juicy Lucy" burger and it was fantastic.  Oy makes their burgers out of a mixture of brisket, short rib and certified angus beef.  The burger was seasoned perfectly...but the standout....is that it's stuffed with cheese.  Like, it's inside of the that nice juicy thick patty.  We also ordered what they call a "mountain of fries"--and it is indeed a mountain.

We all were very happy with our lunch that day, and we plan on going back for brunch to try the pancakes they serve that are as big as a medium pizza--seriously.

If you're in the Atlanta area, I'd suggest you give Oy a try...because, why not?

P.S. I thought it was fitting that I publish this post now, because as of January 1st, my hubs and I are on a 30 day vegetarian challenge.  So the next few food posts will NOT be about any juicy burgers, steak, chicken...any of that.  But, hopefully, I will have some nice vegetarian delights to share with you all.  So stay tuned!

Hey ya'll!!  I know it's been a minute, but let's just jump right in...shall we?  Yes, Nik is wearing a "THOT shirt".  Okay, okay, I jokingly call this bodysuit that...but make no mistake, I LOVE it.  I've seen lace-up shirts/bodysuits like this on sexy mamas all over the net.  I, however, have chosen to wear it in a more "dressed down" way.  I paired it with high-waisted jeans and flat, over-the-knee boots.  By the way, my hubs likes this top as well.  His only request was could I make sure to only wear it when I'm with him. Pretty funny, but I'm down for that. *smile*

I've added this bodysuit to my eBay store.  So, if you want to grab one, go HERE and nab one fast.  I only stock my items in a limited number.

Hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season!

Back Again

Hey guys!  I know it's been quite a while since my last post, but as you can imagine--I've been pretty busy with the move, getting settled into our new digs in Atlanta, getting the kids adjusted into new schools, etc. and the list goes on and on.  All that to say...we made it!  I am now, once again, an ATLien!  I plan to commence blogging again, and hope you all are still just as interested.  I also would like to thank all of you for your condolences regarding my last post.  It really means a lot.  I have to admit, I'm still in this "weird" state. Like some alternate universe.  To the outside world, I know I seem just fine.  However, I'm still working on getting back to normal internally.  Each day it has gotten easier and easier to tuck my feelings away and carry on like busy as usual, and getting back to my normal routine really helped--actually has been my savings grace.  Part of that routine, includes my (lets be honest) sporadic blogging.  So yea, it's good to be back.

On a lighter note, autumn is here!  It was still summer when I last posted.  Of course, I'm happy to switch things up a bit in the wardrobe department and have been more than ready to whip out the boots, the sweaters, the jackets (not coats!), etc.  And you already know it's all pumpkin er'ythang 'round these parts.  Plus, I can't not mention the fact that one of my favorite holidays is tomorrow.  I can't wait to hit the scene in costume this Saturday night! Be sure to follow me on Instagram to see what my costume is this year!

Have a Happy Halloween and be safe!

Unpredictable

Life can be so unpredictable at times, and boy did I learn that lesson in the past few weeks.  First, I lost my older brother to a motorcycle accident about 3 weeks ago.  He was hit by a drunk driver while on his way to work at 6:30AM in the morning.  Yea.  He was wearing a helmet and wasn't speeding, yet he is no longer here with us.

This has been the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with--my family has had to deal with.  And as I've been in the darkest sorrow I've ever experienced, my husband gets a promotion 2 weeks later that is sending us back to ATLANTA in just a few weeks!  That bit of news was definitely a pick-me-up that I could use.

In these pictures, I'm wearing this Grecian style dress that is my new jam.  Can I tell you that I love this dress!?  It actually can be worn in many different ways.  The straps can be tied how ever you please.  I love the color scheme and it makes me feel like a tropical goddess.  If interested, you can get it HERE.

As most of you know, I lived in Atlanta for 7 years prior to coming to Kansas City.  I'm so excited to be going "home"!  I think after 7 years, 2 babies, and a marriage all happening there--it's safe to say that ATL is my home.  I'm also very happy that I'll be back in driving distance to my other favorite city, Miami.

You know, it's crazy how a great year can turn into the worst year in life, in just a blink of an eye.  I realize that loss is a part of the cycle of life and we're (my family & I) all trying to get through this, because we have no other choice.  In the mean time, I'm just trying to focus on the silver linings.

Have a great weekend, guys.

If you've followed my blog at all, then I don't have to explain to you just how much I love rompers.  I'm almost embarrassed of how many I buy every summer.  I see it as a sort of  "fashion laziness".  Either way, they are just always an easey go-to.  Whether dressed up or down, rompers just make it easy.

This particular romper, I fell in love with because of the bright color scheme and the flounce-y bottom with the slanted hem.  That just gives it the slight boho chic feel, that I'm usually drawn to and also makes it stand out.  Being 5'9 inches tall and all, I am definitely giving a lot of leg, which I try not to over do....but sometimes, you jut got to.  This has "date DAY" written all over it.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

I'm a bad style blogger, because I know it's a must to take birthday pictures with a handful of balloons!  I just couldn't muster the effort to get any.  I'm getting old, cut me some slack. *smirky smile*

As for the outfit, I decided to take it back to the old school.  I was born in the late 70's (sounds old, I know), and I figured what I have on is exactly what someone would be wearing at that time.  I love love love these retro-halters that are the rage right now, and these high-waisted, linen (made to look denim/hence the wrinkles) shorts are the perfect match.  Lastly, threw some platform shoes to finish off the modern 70's vibe.

Well, hello there!  I hope everyone had an awesome weekend.  I sure did.  Nothing special occurred, it was just nice to be home and relax.  Last weekend, we were in Orlando with some of my Indianapolis fam.  It's always nice being able to spend time with my parents, other family members and all the babies!  I posted a few Orlando pics on Instagram, by the way.

Back to this past weekend, me and my little family just chilled out.  Hubs and I went to see "Jurassic World"...it was pretty cool.  I liked it for nostalgic reasons, but I have to say, it was very predictable.  Next up, we plan to see the movie "Dope".  A few people I know seemed to have enjoyed it.

Hope you have a great week and an even better long holiday weekend!

I'm not sure if you all notice, but the first thing that jumped out at me when I saw these pictures was my TAN.  Wow, the difference a little sun makes.  I feel like I'm glowing.  Our Bahamas trip coupled with hanging out at the pool every-other-day since we've been back is to blame.  I just love summer!  Well, summer weather, that is. Heck, I'll take summer weather in the winter, spring or fall--to be clear.

What you did probably notice is the new color in my hair.  Yes, I have what I dub "Hair ADHD", and I needed a change.  Actually, I've decided to cut the annoying cycle of dying my hair black.  My hair is naturally dark brown, and will get highlights in the sun. I've been dying my hair jet black off-and-on since 8th grade, and I really want to say goodbye to jet black for good.  I read somewhere that as a woman gets older, she should go lighter with her hair color, and I can see why.  Lighter hair brightens up the face, softens and warms it a bit.  I've lightened my hair many times, and I can attest that when my hair is lighter, I feel less compelled to wear make-up.  It just has a way of doing that.  Since my hair is permanently stained from the black dye, I usually can't get it as light as I'd like (without major damage), so I usually just stick with a red/auburn.  It's red right now because of a rinse, but I will be toning it to a nice medium brown color and will just let my natural color grow in for a while.  I may even lighten my ends a bit more at some point for a nice ombrΓ©.  Either way, the hair world is my oyster, and I'm never scared of taking a risk.

By the way, I'm loving this abstract paisley print dress I'm wearing.  I'm a sucker for prints and with the added embroidery, it gives it that "boho" touch that I love so much.  The dress is more of a flow-y, "baby doll" style, but I prefer it belted.  In person, it looks a lot more expensive than what I paid for it.  Can't beat that!

Have an awesome Monday!

Pink

Hey friends!  I'm back from the vacay.  I guess I can call it vacay, but really it's just visiting family for us!  We hit the usuals--Nassau and Freeport in the Bahamas, plus me and hubs made a quick child-free pit stop in Miami.

I do have some pics to share, and I will post them up when I get a chance.  I have quite a few pictures on my Instagram.  Snapping pictures with my iPhone and quickly uploading them to IG is just too convenient.  I barely whipped out my real camera.

While we were in Miami, we hung out in the downtown area where I use to work many many moons ago.  The atmosphere and seeing people who work down there walking around is what inspired this outfit post.  I worked at a large law firm in downtown, and this was a typical work-day look for me.  Yes, pink pants are okay for work in Miami!!!  I miss that part of living in that city.  Most wardrobe/attire rules are broken, and that is usually the norm.  The pants are super old and I'd gotten them from ZARA at the Aventura Mall.  I still hold on to them because the wide leg cut is timeless, and the fact that they are pink makes them almost one of kind these days.

We definitely had a great time on our trip.  The trip to Miami was definitely a highlight.  It was nice to hang out in my old stomping ground and see the many changes that have taken place since I lived there.  It's definitely in the plans to eventually make it back down there permanently, but for now, I have to make an effort to get there more often.

Happy Thursday!
